It started in 1972 when John Copperfield and his two turtles (John Jr. and Leo)went to a party. As it turned out everyone there had their turtles too making it a giant turtle party instead. John and his turtles liked it so much and being the entrepreneur that he was John went to the president and asked if he could make turtle day a thing.
After 7 years of being turned down, he went online to ask other turtle people to help. But what he did not realize was that there was already a turtle day and turtle fest and he had wasted all his time and efforts.
