It was time for the neighborhood BBQ in Hyland Greens neighborhood. Little did anyone know that things would change forever for their kids. Our very own reporter Micah Scchmohe was at the BBQ and had brought his keycard to play pickleball in the tennis courts.
The neighborhood’s HOA had brought in hot dogs, burgers, potato salad, and lemonade for dinner, and for dessert, they had gotten snow coned and cotton candy. Anyway, Micah was walking to the tennis courts after eating dinner and had just beeped open the door when a stampede of kids barged past Micah into the tennis court with show cones, food, and cotton candy. They started littering everywhere, so Micah knew he had to get them out of the tennis court or the neighborhood would never have a BBQ again.
Micah tried to use a stink bomb to drive the kids out, but it didn’t work. “Well, at least there are only 7 kids in here.” Micah thought, but just then, one kid propped the door open, and hundreds of kids started pouring in. Eventually, Micah decided to wait them out, but kids kept letting more kids in. Micah waited for hours trying to get them to go away when he decided to get cotton candy. A couple of seconds later, the tennis court door locked for the night even though it was 7:43. Then a mysterious voice boomed from above right as the doors locked. “Let the first annual neighborhood Hunger Games Begin!”
All the kids looked at each other for a minute. Suddenly a little toddler grabbed a seventh-grader in a bodybuilder shirt above her head like pro wrestlers did and chucked him out of the tennis court. That set off a chain reaction of kids throwing tennis balls at each other and hitting kids with pickleball paddles. This madness lasted until morning when the gates opened and everybody went home.
The damage done to the tennis court will cost Hyland Greens HOA $11570 to repair, and it will take 5 months to repair. Surprisingly the HOA has voted, and next year there will be another neighborhood BBQ, but during it, the Tennis courts and the neighborhood Pool will be off-limits and looked for everyone.
